This is my 300th blog entry. I feel like I’ve accomplished what I’ve wanted to in the two years that I have been blogging. Not having a regular pull-pit, this gives me an outlet to express my views on a regular basis. I know I have family who reads the blog regularly to keep up with what’s happening with my family; but the truth is that the stand along blog sites (like trenidydavis.com) is already a passing fad. Social sites, like Facebook, come built in with aggregators that allow everyone to easily blog, post pictures, and interact with each other. There are not as many people left who visit stand alone sites. I’m praying/considering writing some discipleship material, but I’m looking for some direction. So if you will please comment and let me know if you think I should keep this blog going, in its current form. I’m not looking for an ego boost (chances are may not get one anyway), but I’m simply trying to find out if there is a large enough audience out there to justify keeping the site. I’ll keep this post up for a couple of weeks and see what kind of response I get, and then I’ll make my decision.
Thanks,
Trenidy
I don’t think it’s the size of the audience, but who your audience is. I blog because I enjoy it, as you say, an outlet. The few people who read my blog are the ones I care about.
Hope you continue.
Thanks Katy for your comment. You’ve been an encourment to me from the begining of the blog.
I don’t know enough to suggest which medium you should use; but, I do tune in now and then when I need a boost. Usually I find something encouraging to start the day. Your talented, TD. You have a unique way of presenting Christian principles in “every day” (vs. an overly pius) way — and very often with that one-of-a-kind great sense of humor you have. So, all that to say this, I hope you keep it up.
TD, I’m not gifted enough to express proper sentiments…….I’ll have to borrow someone else’s words:
Just a small town girl
Livin’ in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight people
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on
Streetlight people
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight people
